Acupuncture in Nijmegen and the surrounding area: how we work
Our practice in Nijmegen is at Gerard Noodtstraat 119, close to the city centre. People from the city and the surrounding towns come here with muscle and joint complaints. This article describes what you can expect and how an appointment works.
Why people come
Most questions are about pain and tension in the neck, shoulders, back, hip, knee or foot, and about stiffness or limited movement after overload. I treat each person individually and first look at which structures are involved before working with needles.
How an appointment works
- A conversation about your complaint, your daily load and what you have already tried.
- A physical examination of movement and of the muscles and connective tissue around the complaint.
- A treatment with acupuncture, with practical advice where that applies.
- An honest view on the next steps, including the answer that acupuncture is sometimes not the right choice.
Costs and reimbursement
Many supplementary insurance policies reimburse acupuncture fully or partly. The amount depends on your policy, so please check this with your own health insurer before you come.
