Privacy Policy of De Zijderoute

1. Who is responsible?

De Zijderoute (Dutch Chamber of Commerce / KvK: 91532116), with practices in Amsterdam (Schaepmanstraat 104, 1051 JG Amsterdam) and Nijmegen (Gerard Noodtstraat 119, 6511 ST Nijmegen), is the data controller for personal data processed via this website and in the practice.

2. What data do we collect via the website?

This website is informational. You can visit it without creating an account and without entering any medical data.

If you contact us by phone, e-mail or WhatsApp, we process the data you provide yourself (such as your name and contact details) solely to answer your question or schedule an appointment.

Appointments are currently booked via Treatwell. The data you enter when booking is covered by the privacy policy of the booking platform in use (currently Treatwell); we only receive the data needed to carry out your appointment. If we use a different booking platform in the future, the same principle applies to that platform, and we will update this privacy policy accordingly.

Videos on this website only load after you click play, using the privacy-friendly youtube-nocookie variant. Reviews are shown via Google; the use of Google Maps and Google Reviews is covered by Google's privacy policy.

3. Cookies

We use four categories. Necessary/functional contains only the storage of your cookie choice and requires no consent. Analytics and Marketing/tracking are not in use at the moment and will only load after your explicit prior consent. Embedded content covers YouTube videos, which load via youtube-nocookie only after you click play yourself.

4. Medical records (WGBO)

Under the Dutch Medical Treatment Contracts Act (WGBO), I am legally required as a healthcare provider to keep a medical record for clients treated in the practice. In addition to the GDPR (AVG), the WGBO and the professional code of the Zhong professional association apply.

The statutory retention period for medical records is 20 years from the date each individual entry is recorded. For minors, this period starts on their eighteenth birthday.

5. Professional confidentiality

As a therapist I am bound by professional confidentiality under the professional code and statutory medical secrecy. Your data is never shared without your consent, unless the law requires it.

6. Minors

Under the patient rights of the WGBO, competent minors between 12 and 16 visit the practice with their parents. Parents of minors under 16 have co-decision rights regarding treatment and the right to access the record where this is linked to those co-decision rights. Competent patients aged 12 and older are themselves authorised to consent to breaching confidentiality.

7. Your rights

You have the right to access, correct and, insofar as the statutory retention obligation allows, delete your personal data. You may also object to processing and request data portability.

Consent given earlier (for example for contact) can be withdrawn at any time via stegzohar@gmail.com.

Do you have a complaint about how we handle your data? You can file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens, autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl).

8. Medical content of the website

The information on this website is intended as general information. Zohar Steg is not a general practitioner (huisarts) in the Netherlands. The content does not replace a medical consultation, diagnosis or treatment by a physician. Always consult your GP about health complaints.
